Forced Hot Air Furnaces—Troubleshooting
By Roger Vizi
344 Pages, softcover
This is the best book that I have found so far on residential furnace service. Roger Vizi knows his stuff and can explain it clearly. Look over the Table of Contents—it's complete, but still allows you to easily find a chapter about what you need (such as operation, troubleshooting, or maintenance). It's a good reference book for the experienced service person and an excellent one for the beginner. I like such things as comments on how to listen and how to explain problems to the homeowner.
Vizi writes in a clear style that is easy to read. His choice of words is excellent—no engineering or technical jargon. There are lots of flow charts and diagrams for troubleshooting and service procedures.
